Dr. Rose interviews physician Dr. Ramkumar Kutty about the ancient science of Ayuredic Medicine and surgery–one of the oldest existing bodies of knowledge on the healing process today. Learn how treatment can benefit you as a Curative or Rejuvenative patient or as a guest at the Vaidyagrama Punarnava–a natural Ayurveda Healing Village & Hospital.

Vaidyagrama (http://punarnava.org/resources/vaidyagrama%20healing%20community%20-%20background%20note.pdf), an Ayurvedic eco-village provides education and Ayurvedic treatments about an hour outside of Coimbatore, South India. Provides a community of Ayurveda hospitals with authentic Ayurveda and vastu shastra treatment in a green and environment-friendly space. The facilities are disability assessable and the hospital is also a learning facility, an ashram, a spa, a temple of healing–an optimum healing environment. As an Ayurveda physician Dr Ramkumar views health from a state of harmony and balance on several levels, moving from bad space to good space requires purification and nourishment, being in tune with nature, brings happiness and contentment to the healing process. A major principal of Ayuverda medicine is that the body/mind needs to be empty and clean to receive good health.

Dr. Ramkumar is also the founder-director of the Punarnava Healing Community–a non-profit Massachusetts organization and sole international subsidiary of the Punarnava Ayurveda Trust. The Punarnava Trust focuses on improving the health, education and welfare of villagers in Thirumalayampalayam Panchayat, South India. The Punarnava Healing Community was established to extend this health, education and welfare to the development and outreach support to other parts of India, the USA and the world. If you are thinking about Ayurveda healing, first understand why you are going. Start by determining in which of three main categories you fall: Currative, Rejuvenative treatment as a patient or as a guest? Do your research and identify a qualified physician by:
• Ensuring they have a least a B.A.M.S. (Bachelor of Ayurvedirc Medicine & Surgery);
• Have a least a minimum experience of 5-7 years;
• Have at least two experienced Ayurveda physicians on staff;
• Have support staff such as therapists.
